3 Renewable Energy Status for Saudi Arabia  Saudi’s solar thermal energy of up to 2,550 KWH per m2 per year (twice the average solar irradiation in Europe).  KA-CARE was Established in 2010 to develop a future sustainable alternative energy in the Kingdom.  Aim to meet % of Saudi Arabia’s energy needs from renewable energy by 2020.  KACST is building a 30,000 m3/day solar-powered seawater desalination plant in Al-Kharfji.  PTC (Polysilicon Technology Company) is building a 7,500 tons per year high-quality polysilicon plant in Jubail.  IDEA Polysilicon Company project in Yanbu to produce 10,000 tons/year polysilicon, 20 million wafers & 19 million solar cells per year.  Saudi Aramco is building a 10 MW photovoltaic solar carport system in the Dhahran office complex.  SEC has launched a solar power plant of an annual production of 864,000 KWH per year on Farasan Island. 7  IDEA Polysilicon Company project under design (SR 2.8 billion investment) to produce 10,000 tons/year polysilicon, 20 million wafers & 19 million solar cells per year.  Hydrogen gas network to capture hydrogen from industrial processes and purify to yield a 19.4% energy savings for industrial users.  Upgrade RC-Yanbu Facilities for LEED certification.  Activate citywide Smart Solar Application Program.  Provide Green building demonstration for the public. 8 RC-Yanbu Energy Support Program  Educational Campaign – Initiate a major public relations campaign to inform the public about the environmental & financial benefits of using solar energy.  Offer a Sustainable Design Center – Construct an exhibit building that will feature state-of-the-art features to inform the public of solar energy applications in their homes & businesses.  Solar Training Programs – Establish classes in Yanbu Technical Institute to train students for solar industry manufacturing jobs.  Create a Solar Energy Cluster – Set aside prime area in Industrial Park for companies that produce solar & renewable energy products. 10 Concluding Remarks  RC Yanbu has launched the Energy Efficiency Program and Solar Energy Initiatives targeting 10% consumption reduction of todays practice based on the directions of HE the EP of the Royal Commission inYanbu and in line with Saudi Energy Efficiency Center regulations.  Yanbu Industrial City has all suitable conditions for solar energy clusters development.  With the Royal Commission's ability and firm commitment to serving investors, great investment opportunities lie ahead particularly in the solar energy industry.
