March 15, 2015 Pastor David Kobelin WHO I AM, IN CHRIST! Part IX
2
I.Living It! – How have you lived knowing that; In Christ, I am seated with Christ in the heavenly realm, and am a citizen of heaven, I have direct access to God through the Holy Spirit, and I cannot be separated from the love of God?

II.This week, we are going to look at 4 promises/concepts/scriptures related to who we are, in Christ. And always remember, you are only these things ‘In Christ’. You cannot be them outside of Him. a.In Christ, I am crucified with Christ. Galatians 2:20 (NIV) 20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20 (NIV)

b.In Christ, I am free from any condemning charges against me. Romans 8:31-34 (NIV) 31 What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? 33 Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34 Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died— more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.

c.In Christ, I have been established, anointed, and sealed by God. 2 Corinthians 1:21-22 (NKJV) 21 Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, 22 who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.
6
d.In Christ, I am a personal witness of Christ’s. Acts 1:8 (NKJV) 8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
7
What do you get a sense of as you listen to all of these concepts/scriptures together? I am one with Him and cannot be accused. He has given me what I need to live this life. I live to make Him known.

Let’s look at each one a little more closely. As we do, ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you which one He wants you to most apply to your life today, and how He wants you to live it out! a.In Christ, I am crucified with Christ. Galatians 2:20 (NIV) 20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:19-21 (NCV) 19 It was the law that put me to death, and I died to the law so that I can now live for God. 20 I was put to death on the cross with Christ, and I do not live anymore—it is Christ who lives in me. I still live in my body, but I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself to save me. 21 By saying these things I am not going against God’s grace. Just the opposite, if the law could make us right with God, then Christ’s death would be useless.

Freedom, patience, wisdom, power, love – whatever you need to live like Christ is fully available, so we should use it. And if by chance you don’t live up to it perfectly, listen to this next concept; In Christ, I am free from any condemning charges against me.

And for some more wonderful truth about who we are and how we can live the life we were created to live, let’s look at our next promise; c.In Christ, I have been established, anointed, and sealed by God. 2 Corinthians 1:21-22 (NKJV) 21 Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, 22 who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee. 2 Corinthians 1:20-22 (NIV) 2 Corinthians 1:20-22 (NIV) 20 For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God. 21 Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, 22 set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.

d.In Christ, I am a personal witness of Christ’s. Acts 1:8 (NKJV) 8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

III.Summary – You have been crucified with Christ and live by faith in Him, no one can bring condemning charges against you, you are established, sealed and anointed by the Holy Spirit, and you are Christ’s witness. How will you live this week knowing that to be true?
