3 Where do they grow? They can live in almost any condition such as hot water springs, cold water or soil, and salty water They can live in almost any condition such as hot water springs, cold water or soil, and salty water One type of Bacteria lives in water that drains from coal mines which is very acidic, and can have a pH of 1. 4 What problems can they cause? They can cause many diseases such as Pneumonia which is a lung infection which means that the bacteria got into your lungs and caused the air pockets in your lungs to fill up with fluid or puss. Some of the things that will happen because of the fluid build up could be a cough, trouble breathing, a fever, and the chills. Strep throat is a bacterial disease that happens in the throat. The throat becomes inflamed and the throat gets irritated so you start to cough, and later that leads to a very sore throat. It is a very curable disease but the symptoms are only fever, and a sore throat so most people think that its just a common cold and don’t go for treatment when they really do need it.
