4 “ A Sound of Thunder ” Written in 1952 by Ray Bradbury Short story about the consequences of irresponsible time travel

5 Main Characters Travis –Hunting guide for Time Safari Inc. Eckels –Customer –Wealthy executive

6 The Story in 1 Minute Eckels arrives at Time Safari Inc. Travis explains the rules: –Don’t touch anything They go back to kill a T-Rex Eckels, initially confident, flips out Alerts the Dino before team is ready

7 The Story in 1 Minute Dino attacks, injures a hunter Team kills it Travis sees Eckels has dirty shoes –He stepped off the clean, designated path They return home Present has changed Travis kills Eckels

10 Design - Script Development Short story was transformed into script format Thorough editing process –Removal of dull dialogue –Modernizing and naturalization of dialogue –Addition of cinematic sequences

13 Design - Visual Style Decision: Stylized characters in relatively realistic surroundings –Smooth characters –Contemporary-looking technology –No flying cars, etc Simplified characters will make animation easier within our timeframe
