2 Common learning Hungary is in the middle of Europe. The capital of Hungary is Budapest. The two longest rivers are the Tisza and the Danubian, and the biggest lake is the Balaton. There are nineteen counties.

3 Weather and seasons The weather in Hungary is changeable. There are four seasons. In spring the weather can be warm and sunny or cold rainy. Summer is hot and dry, but sometimes there are storms. People don’t like autumn because it is usually cold and windy. In winter the weather is cold, the temperature is usually below zero, and it often snows.

4 Greetings In Hungary there are many kinds of greetings. Men always shake hands each time they meet. Women shake hands when they meet somebody for the first time, but after that it isn’t typical. Teenagers, good friends, and relatives usually hug each other or they give a kiss on the cheek.

5 People People in Hungary are hospitable, emotional, and inventive. They are clever too because there were many hungarian inventions, for example: safety match, rubik’s cube, helicopter, computer, the first car, vitamin C, ballpoint pen.

6 Foods and drinks The traditionally phrase in Hungary is: The melody sounds during the good lunch, Traditional foods: stuffed cabbage, stew, goulash soup, fish soup, chicken soup a la újházy style, Sponge cake in somlói style. Drinks: brandy, wine, coffee, beer.

7 DO’s & DONT’s There are some things in Hungary which is rude to do. For example: people don’t clink glasses with beer. Men don’t shake hands in gloves. If you chew chewing gum while you speak with other people it is rude to do. Men allow women to go ahead.

8 Traffic Hungarian people drive on the right side. There are many traffic jams in the capital. There are lots of different means of transport in Hungary: bus, car, underground, tram, trolley bus, train, bicycle,taxi.

9 Sports They pursue many sports, but they just good at : swimming, waterpolo, handball, fencing, kajak, hammer throw, canoe.
