4 You must attain a score of at least 70% in each section to pass that section and you must pass all four sections to pass the exam. You will be given a maximum of 8 hours to complete the exam with 2 hours allotted for each section. Exam Format and Grading Essay Worth 20 points each Quantitative Worth 15 points each Short Answer Worth 15 points each Multiple Choice Worth 5 points each True False Worth 2 points each

6 Overview of CPAT/CCAT Exam Patient Access Credit and Collections Billing

7 Grading is immediate upon completion of the exam You must attain a score of at least 70% in each section to pass that section and you must pass all three sections to pass the exam. 9 There are four areas of focus in one section for the exam Grading is immediate upon completion of the exam You must attain a score of at least 70% to pass the exam You will be given a maximum of 1 hour to complete the exam Exam Format and Grading Non-compliance penalties Agencies that oversee healthcare compliance The seven elements of a healthcare compliance plan Knowledge of the Office of Inspector General compliance recommendations

10 CPAM/CCAM Must be an AAHAM national member in good standing by January 31 of each year Must earn forty hours of continuing education units (CEUs) within two calendar years following certification Twenty of the CEUs must be from attendance at AAHAM sponsored events (local or National Chapter events) Re-Certification

11 CPAT/CCAT Two options to retain technical certification: 1) Retake and pass the entire exam every three years OR 2) Join as a national member and earn continuing education units (CEUs) Must be an AAHAM national member in good standing by January 31 of each year Must earn thirty hours of continuing education units (CEUs) within three calendar years following certification Fifteen of the CEUs must be from attendance at AAHAM events (local or National Chapter events) Re-Certification

12 CCT The CCT certification is NOT maintainable through CEUs The CCT exam will need to be retaken every three years to maintain CCT certification Re-Certification

15 Proctoring Professional Exam Proctoring Requirements Must be proctored by a CPAM or CCAM Technical Exam Proctoring Requirements Must be proctored by a CPAM, CCAM, CPAT, CCAT, CEO, COO, CFO or Human Resources Manager Testing Locations The local MD Chapter is responsible for helping to secure a testing location as a proctor for exam day. 16 SECURITY Assuring adequate security of the testing materials before and during testing No electronic devices such a cell phones will be permitted in the exam area Only plain white paper supplied by the proctor will be allowed in the testing area All other paperwork should be removed PREPARATION Proctors should be trained in appropriate testing practices and procedures ADMINISTRATION Proctors will provide an appropriate testing atmosphere Examinees should not be permitted to take the exam at their own desk There will be two proctors for each testing facility Ethics
