3 COUNTRY  Israel's population is about,81 percent Jewish, most of the rest is Arab.  Israel has two official languages: Hebrew and Arab  Israel is the only liberal democracy in the middle east  Israel's population has reached 8 million as of Independence Day 2013.  Israel as more museums per capital than any other country in the world.

4 GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION  Israel known officially as the state of Israel is a democratic country in the middle east on the southeastern shore of the Mediterranean sea.  Today the population of Israel is estimated to be 7.8million people living in Israel.  The main factor that led to positive population growth was the large number of Jewish immigrants that arrived from all corners of the world.  Has a result of this immigrations Israel's population double in less than four years.

5 GOVERNMENT AND POLITICS  The politics of Israel is dominated by Zionist parties.  Benjamin Netanyahu is Israel’s prime minister.  The government is collectively responsible to the Knesset; each minister is responsible to the prime minister for the field of responsibility with which the minister has changed.  The seat of government is Jerusalem.  A minister will be in charge of ministry; there may be ministers without a portfolio

6 ECONOMICS  Currency: Israeli New Shekel  GDP: 36,051.15 USD (2013)  Unemployment Rate: 6.7%  Average Salary: 9,030 shekels ($2,376)  Israel’s economic freedom score is 70.5, making its economy the 33rd freest in the 2015 Index.

7 EDUCATIONAL STRUCTURE  School Attendance is mandatory and free for kids ages 6-18  Goes from primary school from 1 to 6 and then intermedium goes from 7-9 and secondary from 10-12  About nine percent of the post-primary school population attend boarding schools.  Technion-Israel Institute is one of the major colleges of Israel  Technion tuition is of about $8,571 per year

8 CULTURE AND FASHION  Israel is known as the land of milk and honey.  ree,koo,dey 'am, dances (of the) people) is a form of dance usually performed to songs in Hebrew, Israeli dances include circle, partner, line, and individual dances  The most important national holiday is that of Pesach or Passover  The Israel Festival, is a multidisciplinary arts festival held every spring in Israel.  Israeli dress reflects the climate and religious culture of the region. Differing Judaic sects add to the kaleidoscope of customary, religious attire.

9 FOOD AND RESOURCES  Israel’s culinary traditions comprise foods and cooking methods that span three thousand years of history.  Significant milestones in the availability and development food production characteristic of Israelite cuisine occurred well before the Israelite period.  Grains and bread, barley, wheat, olives, grapes, figs, dates, pomegranates, nuts, Poultry and eggs, goats, sheep, deer, etc…Other influences on cuisine are the availability of foods common to the Mediterranean region, especially certain kinds of fruits and vegetables, dairy products and fish  The distinctive traditional dishes prepared at holiday times.  The tradition of keeping kosher; and food customs specific to Shabbat and different Jewish holidays, such as challah, jachnun, malawach, gefilte fish, cholent (hamin) and sufganiyot.
