Fire Protection
32
Fire prevention for the electronical installation What does it mean? Function guarantee? Test acc. to DIN 4102 ETK Unit - temperature – time - curve
33
Fire prevention for the electronical installation What does it mean? Function guarantee? The whole performance system is tested, which means that only a performance system (with junction box) including cable construction system can have a function guarantee Dowels, cabels and other fasteners have to have an approval as well! DIN 4102 Part 12
34
Fire testing acc. to DIN 4102 Part 12, MPA NRW Installation of ceiling assembly with test samples WKE 200 and 400 Fastening of the cables with approved materials
35
Fire testing acc. to DIN 4102 part 12, MPA NRW after approx. 5 minutes, temperatur e after the ETK approx. 500°C
36
Fire testing acc. to DIN 4102 part 12, MPA NRW Lighted with four oil burners
37
Test assembly power cable Examination on interruption and short- circuit
38
Test assembly exterior view
39
Test assembly after turning off the burners (>90 min)
40
Fire prevention for the electrotecnical installation - The solution in junction boxes!
41
Fire prevention for the electrotecnical installation The solution in junction boxes WKE Junction boxes with function guarantee E30 / E60 / E90 acc. to DIN 4102 part 12 M PA approved E 90 0,5² to 16² IP 54 very flexible cable entry point plastic box = safeguarded isolation non halogen
42
Fire prevention for the electrotecnical installation The solution in junction boxes WKE Junction boxes with function guarantee E30 acc. to DIN 4102 part 12 MPA approved 0,5² to 35²! very robust – non vandalisum IP 66 very flexible – terminal block => fuse possible non halogen plastic box = safeguarded isolation

44
Fire Statistics What is the leading killer in fires?
45
Why Must We Contain Smoke, Toxic Gases and Fire? 3/4 of all fire deaths are caused by smoke inhalation (PVC!!!). Approximately 57% of people killed in fires are not in the room of the fire’s origin. Visibility - 47% of survivors caught in a fire could not see more than 12 feet. Smoke travels 120-420 feet per minute under fire conditions
