4. Level 6 I adapt my talk depending on what area I am talking about or who with. I am confident when I talk. I can get people very interested in what I have to say I am often quite lively when I talk. I know and use language well and can change it to suite who or what I am talking about. I use Standard English when I am talking formally.

5. Level 7 I am very confident when I talk to different people and about different things even those I am not used to. I use words in a careful way and am precise. I am creative with language and my talk is very well organised. I can vary the way I take part in talks and I use Standard English very well, adapting my talk to suit the situation.

6. Exceptional Performance I choose and use different styles and structures when talking to suit the subject and audience. I am very flexible and can adapt what I say and how I say it to suit the situation. I use lots of different words and can speak with expression. I understand all sorts of different subjects and can use complex speech with variety. I am fluent and confident when I talk and can use Standard English very well in different situations and for different purposes.

8. Emotive Language If something is emotive it makes people feel emotional. If you had just had your new bike stolen then your friends might avoid boasting about their bikes: bikes are an emotive subject for you at the moment.
