4 Earlier this year we studied how waves carry energy. List the 2 types of waves we learned about and describe how we used a slinky to learn more about each wave type. Brainstorm first, then construct your sentences.

12 Wavelength- the space between two identical parts of a wave – from a crest to a crest, or a trough to a trough.

13 Trough- the bottom or lowest part of a wave, which happens every wavelength.

14 Crest- the top or peak of a wave. Crests occur every wavelength.

15 Amplitude- the height of the wave. Shows the energy of the wave

16 Frequency- the number of times a wave passes a point in one second How fast the wave is moving
