Aerobatic Positioning Windows Phone App Help-Page

Introduction This app will try to help you with the positioning of an aerobatic box for an aerobatic contest, in addition you can track your training flights and review the positioning of your aerobatic sequence inside the aerobatic box.

The reference marker We want to define the first reference marker of our aerobatic box. For this we walk to the most prominent and easy to detect box marker. Now we can open the Aerobatic Positioning App and tapping on the Globe-Icon. This will set the map to your GPS- position.

Position the first marker Now we should see our position in the map window. A thin red cross will always identify our current location. If we tap on the globe icon again, the map will snap to that position. If we can see the pin-icon in red we are in the box placing mode. We can tap on the different orange box marker to display the aerobatic box.

Turn the aerobatic box Play around a bit to understand what box will be placed if you tap on the different orange box markers. For the orientation of the aerobatic box you can use the slider directly under the map.

Zooming in and out If you use two fingers on the map you can zoom the map and move it. If you tap on the orange box markers the app will relocate the box in relation to the displayed center of the map.

Pin the aerobatic box If you are happy with your box positioning you can fix it by taping on the pin-icon. It will be white and an additional play-icon appears.

Record your flight Enter your plane and hit the play-icon to record your flight. Remember to store your smart phone somewhere safe. After you finish your flight stop the tracking by tapping on the stop-icon.

Flight review Immediately after stopping the recording the review screen shows up. You can see the aerobatic box with the small buffer zone. The line is your flight path. The color displays if you are too low or too high depending on the selected radio button. One remark: I am not sure how good the smart phone can track your flight. The GPS data should be quiet accurate, but I would not expect too much precision from the altitude measure.

Other buttons The crossing arrow-icon will display the review screen. The question mark will display the information screen. You can always move back from these screens by tapping on the back-icon.

Help screen You can access this webpage by selecting the URL. Thank you, Michael Garbers
