Member Benefits Benefits available to all eligible insureds, as Foresters members: Competitive Scholarships Terminal Illness Loan Orphan Benefits Everyday Money Legal Link Foresters members include insureds under Foresters certificates. Members’ immediate family members may also be eligible to apply for certain member benefits. Foresters member benefits are non-contractual, subject to benefit-specific eligibility requirements and limitations, and may be changed or canceled without notice. US (07/12) Producer Use Only Let’s talk about the benefits that apply directly to the Member and their immediate family. Before we do, though, I’d like to make a few points about these Benefits. Many producers through the US talk about all these benefits with all their clients. They do this even though they know that not every benefit will apply to every client. However, they know that these benefits could apply to their clients’ families and friends – the people they care about, if they also had Foresters certificates. The producers who do this have told me that this benefit package has an immediate impact on their business. In fact, it helps them in three ways: When you work with a client and show them a Foresters product that meets their insurance needs and budget, the additional value the Member Benefits may provide can help them feel very good about purchasing that product from you. It helps them get referrals. When you talk about these benefits with your clients, even if the benefits don’t apply to that specific client, they start thinking about their friends and family and many times they will refer them to you to talk about Foresters, our mission, and life insurance products. It helps them protect their book of business. It is difficult for another producer to walk into the Member’s home and replace a Foresters life insurance product if the Member knows about the benefits and what they can offer. These are three great reasons that producers have told me that they like talking about Foresters benefits with all their clients. Let’s talk about them.

Member Benefits For Helping Generations
Suppose two parents with three small children (turning ages 1, 3,and 5) pass away Foresters could pay death benefits Foresters would also pay the Orphan Benefit to the legal guardian of the orphaned children Member Benefit Benefit Amount Orphan Benefits Up to $486,000 Orphan Scholarship Up to $72,000 Total Benefits $558,000 Foresters members include insureds under Foresters certificates. Members’ immediate family members may also be eligible to apply for certain member benefits. Foresters member benefits are non-contractual, subject to benefit-specific eligibility requirements and limitations, and may be changed or canceled without notice. US (08/12) Producer Use Only Here is an example of how the Member Benefits could help three generations of one family. The insured member under a Foresters life insurance certificate gets to take advantage of their membership – don’t forget could get invited to free events, such as days at theme parks, movie premiers and sporting events – and have the peace of mind knowing they have protected their family with life insurance. If the Member is married and has three small children, turning ages 1, 3, and 5 and the worst happens – the Member and their spouse pass away – what would Foresters do? First, we would pay the death benefit payable– just like every other life insurance company would. Assuming benefit specific eligibly requirements are met then the Member Benefits would start to be paid. Appropriate forms will need to be filled out to obtain the orphan benefits and approximately one month after the death of the parents, the Member Benefits could start paying $900 per month per child to the legal guardian of the children up until each child turns 18. In this example, if the legal guardian is one of the childrens’ grandparents, that grandparent is receiving $2700 per month to help raise their three grandchildren. That grandparent gets the peace of mind of not having to worry about how they are going to raise another set of children. By the time the last child turns 18, Foresters would have provided up to $486,000 in additional benefits to the legal guardian. When the children are ready to go to college, Foresters could provide the Orphan Scholarship. Since both parents passed away, each child can receive $6,000 per year for up to four years to help pay for the cost of earning their first degree. If each child goes to college for four years and takes full advantage of this scholarship, that would be another $72,000 in benefits provided to the children. When you add it all up, Foresters, in this example, could provide an additional $558,000 because just one of the parents was a Foresters Member.

People between the ages of For the people on the younger half of that spectrum, they have time. As most of you know, on average it takes years to start building significant cash value in a whole life certificate. That’s what the younger people have: time and health. They can lock in lower premiums because of their age and good health and also take advantage of the cash value accumulation. For the older people in that age group they may be more interested in the guaranteed death benefit and level premium. Either way, people ages can be a good fit for participating whole life products. For those who have the resources and want to build significant cash value within their permanent life insurance we also have medically underwritten plans available.

(non-direct recognition) Available up to cash surrender value at the end of the current certificate year Current US variable loan rates (currently 5.0%)* Contractual Dividends Paid-up Additions (default) On deposit with interest (minimum 3.5% guarantee) Reduce Premiums Paid in Cash *Loan rates are variable. Loan rates current as of July 18th, 2012. US (08/12) Producer Use Only Loans at Foresters are non-direct recognition – this means that if your client takes a loan on their certificate, future dividends are not impacted by the loan. Speaking of dividends, there are four dividend options. Paid-up Additions is the default and is common with whole life products in the industry. If Foresters declares a dividend, it is added to the certificate as a paid-up addition unless another option was elected. For example, if I have a $100,000 Foresters Participating Whole Life certificate and Foresters declares a dividend, that dividend may be enough to buy me an additional $5,000 in coverage. If it is, my new death benefit would be $105,000. Because whole life endows at age 121, now my cash value is building towards an endowment value of $105,000. Since this is greater than the $100,000 it was building towards, that means my cash value will grow faster. On deposit with interest is also available. Currently Foresters is paying 4.00% interest with a minimum guarantee of 3.5%. Be careful when you run illustrations with this. If you compare this illustration to one with paid-up additions, this may appear to generate more cash value. However, this generates a 1099 each year. If you are discussing cash values with your client, you’ll want to make sure you take into account the tax implications of leaving the money on deposit with interest. Reducing premiums. If this option is selected and Foresters declares a dividend, Foresters will apply the dividend towards your client’s premium, reducing the amount they would have to pay. The last option is paid in cash. If we declare a dividend, we send the certificate owner a check.

Advantage Plus Whole Life Paid-up Additions Rider – Basic Rider Information
Rider Options Flexible Payments Single Payments Rider Dividend Matches Advantage Plus dividend option Automatic Premium Loan/Reduced Paid Up If Advantage Plus on APL, the rider is terminated Withdrawing Paid-Up Additions May be partially surrendered or in full On Waiver or Disability PUA purchases allowed Payments not waived US (08/12) Producer Use Only Line 1: Flexible Payments: Payments may be made off the monthly anniversaries. Payments buy whole life insurance at the time it is accepted. The amount of insurance purchased with each payment equals the net actual payment divided by the Net Single Premium factor at an interpolated age (based on ANB on Rider anniversaries) at the time each payment is accepted. Interpolation uses a 365 day year. Single Payments: The single payment buys whole life insurance at the time it is accepted. The amount of insurance purchased with the single payment equals the net actual payment divided by the Net Single Premium factor at the ANB on the rider add (not interpolated) at the time each payment is applied. Line 2: The dividend option of the PUA rider will be the same as the Advantage Plus base plan dividend option. All PUAs purchased off certificate anniversaries receive a pro-rata first dividend at the next certificate anniversary, based on the number of days they are in effect. In all subsequent years they will be credited a full dividend on the certificate anniversary, if one is declared for that year. PUA dividend rates will be different from the Advantage Plus base plan dividend rates. Line 3: If the base plan is on the automatic premium loan (premiums being paid by loan) then payments may not be paid into the PUA Rider and billing must be turned off. The owner will not be billed for the PUA rider and the rider is terminated and would have to be reinstated. If the base certificate becomes Reduced Paid-Up, payments can no longer be remitted. The cash values of the PUAs purchased by the PUAR will be used toward the total cash value used to determine the reduced paid up (RPU) amount for the base. Line 4: The entire accumulated total of paid-up additions under the base plan and a PUA rider or a portion thereof may be withdrawn. If all or a portion of the PUAs are surrendered it will not affect the ability to continue to make payments into the flexible payment rider. Certificate holders may request a partial surrender based on our administrative rules at the time of the request which are currently: a maximum of four partial surrenders per certificate year; at least $500 of cash value must be surrendered; that part of any cash value that is security for a loan may not be surrendered; the death benefit related to the paid-up additions will be reduced to the amount the remaining cash value will purchase when applied as a net single premium. If the cash value is less than $500, full surrender is allowed. There are currently no fees for withdrawals or surrenders. Line 5: PUA Rider can added subject to underwriting and payments can be made into the PUA rider if the insured is on waiver and/or receiving disability payments. PUA payments are not waived and the owner will not be billed for the PUA rider.

PlanRight Whole Life U.S. population age 65 and over is expected to double in the next 25 years By 2030 almost one out of five Americans (some 72 million people) will be 65 years or older According to the National Funeral Directors Association, the average cost of a funeral in 2010 was $7,755 Sources: US (08/12) Producer Use Only The US population is aging. In the next 20 years over 70 million Americans will be age 65 or older. When you think about most seniors they have two things in common. First, they want to stay as financially independent as possible for as long as possible. Second, they want to make sure they don’t leave “mess” behind when they pass away. PlanRight is designed to help the family with both of those goals. First, it’s affordable. We’ll show you some pricing competition so you can see exactly what we’re talking about. Second, it is designed to help pay for the cost of the client’s final expenses. That way the insured person doesn’t leave their heirs stuck with a funeral bill. How much do funerals cost? According to the National Funeral Directors Association, the average cost of a funeral in 2010 was $7,755. However, that just includes basics such as a vault, embalming and the casket. It does not include many of the costs traditionally associated with a funeral, such as flowers, donations to the place of worship, transporting the remains or other costs. There are other, hidden, costs associated with death that many people forget or may be unaware of. First is probate expenses. Make sure your clients know about legal link and, if they don’t take advantage of the discounts offered by Legal Club of America, at least get the free simple will and keep it updated. That can save thousands in probate costs. Second is real estate. If the person who died is leaving a home that has not been updated in 30 years, how long will it take to sell? In most parts of the US today the real estate market is flat at best. The heirs may be left paying for upgrades, repairs to bring the house up to code, real estate taxes and probably utilities. Those are expenses that can add up in a hurry. Make sure your client is considering those costs as part of their final expense plan.

Graded – this is for the client who has some health issues. If the insured passes away in years 1 or 2, the death benefit payable would be based on the greater of: ROP + 4.5% interest; or 30% of the face amount in year 1; 70% of the face amount in year 2 Modified – this is for the client who has poor health. PlanRight Whole Life Real-Time Underwriting
Supported by Apptical Fast, reliable service Focus on the sale not the underwriting process Know the client’s medical eligibility before leaving the client’s home US (08/12) Producer Use Only What makes the PlanRight underwriting so fast? We use Apptical to provide you with a Personal Health Inspection at the point of sale. The Personal Health Inspection is, on average, a 12 minute phone call. During that phone call, Apptical uses the applicant’s answers on the application, an MIB check and a Prescription History check to determine the applicant’s medical eligibility to apply. That means that you can focus on the sale and not the underwriting process! You’ll also know what your client is medically eligible to apply for before leaving the client’s home.
98
PlanRight Whole Life Process
Complete the application Call Apptical for Personal Health Interview (PHI) MIB and Prescription Checks will be performed on all applications Medical eligibility based on application and telephone interview results Fax or mail-in application US (08/12) Producer Use Only PlanRight uses a four-step process. Fill out the application. The reason is because we need the client’s permission to do the MIB and Prescription History checks. The signed application is the proof we need that they gave us that permission. Then call Apptical. They will ask you a few basic questions – such as your name, producer number – and a few basic questions about the client. Then they’ll ask to talk to the client. While on the phone, they’ll confirm your client’s answers to the questions on the application. While they are doing that, they will run the MIB and Prescription History checks. This is the 12-minute phone call I mentioned. When they are done, they’ll ask the client to hand the phone back to you. The Apptical interviewer will tell you what the client medically qualifies to apply for. That way you get to have the conversation about eligibility with your client – not the Apptical interviewer. Then just submit the application. An easy, four-step process.
99
PlanRight Whole Life Process
In order for you to continue with the Point-of-Sale process for PlanRight, all applications must be submitted to Foresters within 10 business days after a call has been placed wtih Apptical, regardless of the outcome. US (08/12) Producer Use Only One last note, even if your client is declined, be sure to send in the application. That’s why we ask you to have the client sign it first. Legally both Foresters and you as an insurance producer must have a signed application as proof that the client gave us permission to run the MIB and Prescription History checks. If we don’t get that signed application within 10 business days, we’ll have to eliminate your ability to use the POS process. We don’t want to do that, though, so we’ll call and you to try to get a hold of you and get a copy of that application.
