2.  Vera Wang was born on June 27, 1949  She was born in New York, New York.  Full name is Vera Ellen Wang.  Daughter of Chinese Immigrants.  She enjoyed a pampered childhood in Manhattans Upper East Side.

4.  As a talented figure skater she competed professionally throughout her teens.  In 1968 & 1969 U.S. National Championships her and her partner James Stuart placed fifth in junior pairs.  After graduating college in 1971, she moved on from ice skating.

5.  After graduating college in 1971 and ending her ice skating career and began working ta Vogue Magazine.  Within a year at age 23 she was promoted to senior editor.  She held that job for 15 years, till she quit and went to go work with Ralph Lauren in 1987.

6. She worked with Ralph Lauren for two years. She finally opened her own company in 1990, on Madison Avenue, New York. She was designing bridal wear and evening gowns. She opened her own star Bridal Salon at the Carlyle Hotel on Madison Avenue in New York City.

7.  In 1992 she designed Winter Olympic costume for Nancy Kerrigan.  In 1999 she designed Victoria Beckham’s wedding gown for her marriage to David Beckham.  In 2000 she designed Charlize Theron dress for the 2000 Academy Awards

8.  In 2001 she published a book called “Vera Wang on Weddings.”

9.  She launched a Vera Wang for Wedgewood Tabletop Line.  Launched her first fragrance “Vera Wang” and won a FiFi Award.  She also launched a ready-to-wear collection.

10.  She introduced a silver, flatware and gifts collection with Wedge Wood.  Launched Vera Wang eyewear with Kenmark.

11.  Came out with Vera Wang Fine Papers with William Arthur.  Introduced a fragrance called “Vera Wang for Men.”

12.  2005  New Fragrance: Sheer Veil.  Wins CFDA Award.  2006  New Fragrance: Princess  Designed Michelle Williams Academy Award dress.

13.  2007  First Lavender Label Contemporary Collection Spring.  Launched Simply Vera Vera Wang exclusively at Kohl's.  New Fragrance: Truly Pink  Vera Wang Flowers with FTD.

14.  Opened up Vera Wang Mercer for Ready-to-Wear and accessories collections.  New Fragrance: Bouquet.  The Romanticist Barbie is introduced.

15.  Launched Vera Wang Lavender Footwear with Brown Shoe.  New Fragrance: Rock Princess.  Designed Kiera Knightley’s Academy Award dress.

16.  Designed Ivanka Trump’s wedding gown.  Designed Khloe Kardashian’s wedding gown.  Designed Alyssa Milano’s wedding dress.

17.  Launched a Vera Wang Bedding Collection with Revman International.  Launched a limited addition fragrance, “Vera Wang Anniversary.”  Launched Vera Wang Unveiled blog and Xo.

18.  Designed Evan Lysaceks winter Olympic costume.  Opened Vera Wang on Melrose for Ready-to-Wear, accessory and bridal collections.

19.  Designed White by Vera Wang for David's Bridal Debut.  Introduced two new fragrances: Lovestruck and Preppy Princess.  Opened first London Bridal Salon, Vera Wang at Browns.

20.  The Traditionalist Barbie debuted.  Introduced Vera Wang love, a collection of engagement rings, and wedding bands exclusively at Zales.

21.  New fragrance: Princess Night  Launched BLACK by Vera Wang an exclusive collection of rental tuxedos at Men's Warehouse.  Introduced Simply Vera Vera Wang Cosmetics Collection at Kohl's.
