1 Captain Underpants and the Big, Bad Battle of the Bionic Booger Boy – Part 2 Author and Illustrator: Dav Pilkey Review by: Mason Cornette

2 Main Characters and Traits Captain Underpants His real name is Mr. Krupp – Principal of Jerome Horwitz Elementary School. He becomes Captain Underpants when someone snaps their fingers. He turns back into Mr. Krupp when someone pours water on his head. Captain Underpants wears white underpants, and he completes missions that save and help people. Harold Hutchins and George Beard They make comics that people buy. People are addicted to their comics because the comics are hilarious. Both get sent to the Principal’s office frequently. Harold and George are neighbors and buds. Melvin He is a classmate of Harold and George and Jerome Horiwitz Elementary School. Melvin has an invention, and it causes him to change bodies with Mr. Krupp. Melvin then has the mind of Mr. Krupp and the super powers of Captain Underpants.

3 Setting The story takes place at Jerome Horwitz Elementary School. – George, Harold and Melvin are students at Jerome Horwitz Elementary School. – Mr. Krupp is the Principal. The setting is all around the school and during school hours. The Bionic Booger Boys attacked Mr. Krupp and the students, because they are aliens and they are scared of people. – Melvin becomes Mr. Krupp, and Mr. Krupp becomes Melvin. – George and Harold sue a time machine to change them back. – Mr. Krupp becomes Captain Underpants and he fights the Bionic Booger Boys. Genre I think the book is both realistic fiction and fantasy. – It is realistic fiction because it takes place at a school with students and a Principal. – It is fantasy because the Principal turns into a super hero, and there are aliens that come to Earth. Favorite Part My favorite part is when George and Harold make a time machine out of a port-a-potty from the library. Why I Picked this Book I picked this book because the first Captain Underpants book I read was very funny. This is my second Captain Underpants book and I enjoyed the second book as much as the first! Book Rating I would give this book three of four stars!

4 Summary The main idea of the story is one of Melvin’s inventions causing Melvin to become Mr. Krupp, and Mr. Krupp to become Melvin. Most of the story is about how George and Harold use a time machine to go backwards to fix Melvin’s invention. They do this so they can change Melvin and Mr. Krupp back to normal. Some important things that happen during the story are George and Harold draw comics, Mr. Krupp becomes Captain Underpants, Melvin gets super powers, there is a big fight between the humans and the aliens, and the humans work together to save the day. At the end of the story, Captain Underpants battles the Booger Boys. He defeats the Booger Boys by doing a dance, and then the Booger Boys are flushed down a toilet. Mr. Krupp and Melvin are changed back to themselves, and George and Harold fix all of the inventions and problems.
