4. Protagonist= The main character in a drama

5. Antagonist= The people who get in the way of the protagonist or prevent this character from achieving their goal

6. II. Comedy Has a happy ending. Doesn’t necessarily have to be very funny. The antagonist overcomes and achieves their goal.

7. III. Tragedy Unhappily ends The protagonist may come to a bad end because of a tragic flaw, a flaw within their character that brings their downfall.

8. IV. Dramatic Monologue An extended speech by one character that reveals a great deal about him or her. A soliloquy is an extended speech within a longer play.
