The cable should be plugged in left of the white cable at the back of the scanner system. 2. “After successfully scanning my media into the computer I am not able to access it even though I can see it.” After scanning your media it is recommended that you close the Microtek Scan Wizard box and then you will be able to access your media files and also edit them. 3. “I scanned my media but its scanned upside down or at a weird angle.” The best way to solve this is to Click on Image - > Rotate Canvas -> The direction you want it to rotate.

Questions & Answers

Question and Answer Q. How do I get the highest quality copy of my original? A. The simplest thing you can do is go to the Advanced Control Panel and click on the options menu. Open the More.... item. Under scan quality choose the Best Quality option. Save the image as a JPEG file type. Q. What is the ideal resolution for copying a photo? A. 300 dpi is enough resolution for most printers to create an accurate 4"x5" copy of a 4"x5" original. To blow-up an image, scan at a higher resolution and use the Scale Output feature in ScanWizard 5 to blow up the image. For Advanced Panel users, change the Scaling value to increase the size of the image and scan at a higher resolution. The ideal resolution, when scaled, should result in an image that is about 300 ppi.

Question and Answer Q. How do my friends find the images I sent them? A. First, write down the name of the file. Have your friend search for the name of that file on their system. For help finding files, please consult the help files or documentation for the operating system that shipped with your computer. Q. How do my friends open the images I sent them? A. Find an image-viewing application on your system. Recent Windows and Macintosh operating systems ship with at least one viewer. Consult your documentation and open this application. Find the file that was sent on your system. Use the image viewing application to open the file.

Question and Answer Q. How do I switch between the Standard and Advanced Control Panel? A. Click on the first icon along the top of the ScanWizard 5 scanning software to switch between Standard and Advanced control panels. Q. What is the best resolution to scan an image? A. It is recommended to scan at 100 ppi for a web page image. Anything above 100 ppi would be good for documents and presentations. A word of caution though, the bigger the resolution the bigger the picture and also increase in size.
