 The French is an Individualistic culture.  They also have high power distance.  They often shake hands for greetings.  They are personal people and have different rules of behavior for people who are not very close to them.

 The French business world highlights politeness. thus you must always be formal and share respect with others in order to finish any required work.  Communication depend on the person’s social position, education stage, and their homeland.  Take an appointment minimum two weeks ahead of the meeting that you want to have.  Meetings must not be in July or August since it is their frequent vacation time.

 Keep eye contact when you’re talking to someone French.  If you proposed something to them they will study it very carefully no matter how much time that will take.  Avoid any challenging behavior and extra friendliness.  Include French translation on the back of the business card and any academic degree.  The French business cards are little bit bigger than business cards in a lot of countries.

 As an Emirati who doesn’t speak French, I’m expected to apologize to the French people for my disability in speaking their language. However, in order to earn a good relationship with them, learning few key words would be essential.  If I had a meeting and am going to be late, I must call to give my justification right away. My meeting should be for solving problems not making decisions and must not include exaggerated argues because French people do not like that.

 I must avoid any challenging behavior because it might work the other way around and avoid being extra friendly with them as they usually break up their business from their private life.  If I’m willing to do business with the French my business card would look quite different than what I use in my country.
