treatment in case you develop the flu Laboratory studies show that medicines approved for human influenza viruses should work in treating avian influenza infection in humans. influenza viruses can become resistant to these drugs, so these medications may not always work. Additional studies are needed to determine the effectiveness of these medicines.
4
Cont… The H5N1 virus(avian flu virus) is resistant to amantadine and rimantadine, two antiviral medications commonly used for influenza. Two other antiviral medications, oseltamavir and zanamavir, would probably work to treat this flu.

Tips to keep in mind… The virus is spread by respiratory secretions from an infected person who is coughing and sneezing so: Avoid close contact with people who are sick. Wash hands before eating and drinking. Stay home when you are sick. You will help prevent others for getting sick. When you greet people, don’t shake hands or exchange kisses.
7
Cont… Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth to avoid germs or infections. If you don't have a tissue, cough or sneeze into your sleeve. Cover your mouth and nose while sneezing. “swine flu parties” should be avoided.
