Space & Rocket Center  Not-for-profit agency of the State of Alabama Governed by 18-member Commission appointed by the Governor 432 acres deeded by Redstone Arsenal; presently use about 80 acres #1 paid tourist attraction in the State Has hosted 12 million visitors since opening in 1970 Home of U.S. SPACE CAMP  operations, domestic and worldwide World leader in immersive simulation and interactive training Is not part of NASA, but serves as the Visitor’s Center for MSFC and houses the MSFC Educator Resource Center Affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution

4 MISSION STATEMENT To use the excitement of the U.S. Space Program to stimulate young people’s interests in the study of math, science and technology. Programs for 4 th Grade – High School 2-3 day programs and weeklong programs correlated to National Standards SPACE CAMP ® AVIATION CHALLENGE ® AVIATION CHALLENGE ® MISSION STATEMENT To use the excitement of military aviation to motivate young people to pursue math and science studies in preparation for aerospace and other high-technology careers. Programs for 4th Grade – High School 2-3 day programs and weeklong programs
