RESULTS Companies refer to themselves as “a full service agency” or a boutique agency”. Each company offer a unique point of difference from their competitors. CIP Creative offer furniture design, Moko Creative offer food photography services. My local area has quite a few design businesses but none of them offer all the services I propose to.

LOGO AND BUSINESS NAME CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT Naming your business is really hard!! So many of the names I wanted were already taken, by searching ASIC and IP Australia I was able to see what names were already taken. I wanted a name that would portray the sort of business I am trying to build, as well as being unique and memorable.

NUEVO MEDIA IS BORN The brainstorming process...

EXAMPLES OF BRANDING DESIGNS The above example included elements of visual merchandising. These particular elements are branded merchandise. The logo and theme has been applied to many different graphic mediums. Similar to what I would like to achieve.

This designer has created a self-promotional package, just as I would like to achieve. I love the fact that the designer even went so far, as to design a bottle with her cv on the label. The small gold objects are actually usb drives.

In this example the designer has designed a resume, folder, business card and envelopes as a self promotional piece.

This designer has created an entire package for her CV and showreel

In this example the designer has designed a complete branding package for his new graphic design business.

PACKAGING AND OTHER THINGS Research a way to package my CV, DVD showreel, and business card. What can I add to my package to give it a point of difference? Eg. Pens, notepad, usb Cost and ability to design and create the package myself Cost of professionally printing my package

PACKAGING REFERENCE My first point of reference was the 2012 Cannon Photo 5 box The packaging has a fold out design, and has recesses where things can be packaged inside.

PACKAGING DESIGN Basing my idea of the Canon photo box Interlocking interior box Exterior folding box Affixed with a logo sticker View Package design

PAPER AND PRINTING Paper Packaging 250-300gsm board recycled brown Business card 200-250gsm recycled white CV 150-200gsm matte paper Printing Research into the cost of commercial printing with 3 spot colours run of 500 Source the paper myself and print on the large format printers at TAFE run of 100

LOGO REFERENCE The following are examples of typographical logos that I really liked. I think the typographical logo looks clean modern and adds a point of interest to a design.

CONCEPT WORK The starting point was to create a business name logo that would inform the rest of my branding project. I began by looking at fonts and colours.

PROCESS Illustrator, to create a typographical logo, and to test colours. Create a clean and modern look with elements of art nouveau. Conduct market research into which fonts, colours, and lay outs work well.

RESULTS By asking classmates and people experienced with design I was able to get a fresh opinion on my design and change it accordingly The results were surprising, the design that I though was best wasn’t always the one that was chosen. Through the process of market research I was able to come up with a design that worked. The final logo is very different from my original concepts.

MOOD BOARD (colours represented here are not accurate of final colours) The above colour schemes are what I started with
