2 AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL FACTS:  Aaron Douglas was an was an African-American painter and a major figure in the Harlem Renaissance, born on May 26, 1899.  Born and raised in Topeka, Kansas.  He developed an interest in art during his childhood and was encouraged in his pursuits by his mother.  Education: University of Nebraska, Lincoln, Topeka High School  February 3, 1979 he died at the age of 79.
