1 By: Jake Elfstrom, Ryan Do and Mikayla Bridges Connecticut colonists are very cold and would do anything for something to keep them warm during the harsh winter seasons. Lucky for them we have a solution! Our SnugCoat is ideal in the winter time for keeping the bodies inside them nice and cozy.

2   Founded in 1636 by a man named Thomas Hooker with other colonists in Hartford  Connecticut got its name from an Indian saying” River whose water is driven by tides or winds.”  Thomas and another 100 people are considered the founding fathers of Connecticut. Colony History

3   They had a lot of animals and edible plants this helped the population grow.  In 1614 Adrien Block set up trade on the Connecticut river.  Settlers started to arrive in 1632.  Had two distinct trading routes.  After the Native Americans left the towns grew. People in Connecticut

4   Long, cold winters and mild, short summers.  Frequent rain fall in spring time.  Temperatures occasionally drop to around -1 to -4 Celsius in the winter Our SnugCoat will protect you from these harsh winter temperatures. Climate and Geography

5   Some of the most popularly made products were things like flour, lumber, useful hardware, shoe buckles and candle stick holders.  The most popular trades were pots, pans, cloth, shoes, spices, pins, hats, and combs.  In Connecticut shipbuilding was very popular. 6   There was only one religion in Connecticut  The Puritans had very strict rules in what you could do.  Although many left to have their own religion they didn’t tolerate any other religions.  People were not allowed to swear. Religion in colonial Connecticut

7   The Governor of Connecticut had the power representing England.  Colonial Connecticut had town meetings  Groups of people were elected to vote for their counties in Connecticut Politics of Connecticut

8   Native Americans remained active agents in Connecticut  The Natives were hunter-gatherers and they were farmers so they could gather materials for your factories to produce the SnugCoat. Native American Relationship
