What makes it a Tale? LACK OF DETAIL – Compared to modern short stories, the characters of the father, son, king, princess, and even Death himself seem hardly more than stick figures.

What makes it a Tale? ELEMENTS OF THE SUPERNATURAL – In the world of this fable, God, the Devil and Death walk along the highway.
