GEDtestingservice.com GED.com Some Statistics All but 2 U.S. states offer the Spanish language GED ® test 28,880 (4%) of U.S. 2012 test-takers used the Spanish language GED ® test Nearly half of those testing in Spanish were in California, Texas, New York, and Illinois 17% of U.S. 2012 test-takers were of Hispanic origin In 2013, Hispanic test-takers who tested on computer achieved an 83% pass rate

Founded in 1980. Mission of providing accessible and affordable higher education opportunities to the Latino community in the Chicago Metropolitan area. Private non-profit institution. Accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. Founding member of HACU. Recognized by HACU as an Outstanding Hispanic Serving Institution in 2013.

Four locations in predominantly Hispanic neighborhoods. Bilingual curriculum. Equivalent morning and evening sessions Child care, intensive advising, etc. Low tuition. Several associate degree programs. Bachelor in Social Work and others in development.

Funded in 2012 by the Adult Education programs of the Illinois Community College Board. 2 purposes Serve as a feeder to the collegiate program. Provide opportunity to obtain the GED credential to the Latino community.

Capacity to serve up to 600 students. English and Spanish sessions. TABE testing at 9 th grade level. 8-week intensive sessions. 140 hours of instruction. Morning and evening sessions. All campus locations. Pre-GED program (60 hours).

Intensive advising Full-time instructors Tutoring Bridge curriculum Computer skills College Preparatory Incentive College course for those successfully passing exit test Pre GED classes Retention rate 75% Exit test passing rate 65% and 80% 55 participants in GED incentive class Spring 2014. 17 Full-time students who took incentive class in past 18 months.
