5 The World cup is the biggest soccer competition in the world! It is played between the best countries in the world. The competition started it 1930 and happens every 4 years. The most recent world cup was in the summer of 2014. The winner was Germany beating Argentina 1-0 In overtime. Here are some facts about the world cup! Did you know that the 2006 world cup was one of the most watched event in television history. The 2010 world cup was the FIRST world cup played on African soil. ( South Africa.) 7 Leo Messi Is dribbling up the Pitch with courage and pride. Muller is chasing after him and boom that was a dirty slide tackle. That slide tackle was no good. The Ref Is reaching inside is pocket and pulls out a yellow card! Now Barcelona is back passing and keeping possession. They get the ball to Messi a defender is on him and a ohh look at that Step over. The step over is a basic skill you should learn for a game. Messi then passes to Neymar who gets tripped outside the box. Messi is now ready to take the kick. He curls it over the Wall the goalie dives but misses the ball and Messi Scores! The crowd goes wild. Soon the ball gets to Suarez who is running with pace. That is very important for soccer players. Suarez passes to Neymar who back heels it to Messi amazing skill. Messi then crosses it to pique who heads it wide. So close. Beep beep beeeep. The 90 minutes are up and Barcelona wins. Barcelona could not have down it with out the amazing skills from Messi. 8 Real Madrid won the 2014 champions league The Champions league is like the world cup for clubs. It features the best clubs in the world. The final four are fc Barcelona, Real Madrid, Fc Bayern and Jueventus. The two teams in the final are Jueventus and Fc Barcelona. It was an upset when Jueventus Knocked out defending champion Real Madrid. Know I Will show you some of the Champions League stats ( 5-17-15 ) : The most passes so far are Toni Kroos on Real Madrid. The most goals are 10 by Leo Messi of Barcelona and Ronaldo on Real Madrid. The most assists are Leo Messi of fc Barcelona. The total goals scored are 357. Now to the history of the game! 9 Formations In this chapter you will learn the basics about positions and formations. probably one of the most famous formation is the 442. Four defenders, four midfielders, two forwards. Another formation is the 443 which includes four defenders, three midfielders, and three forwards. Positions In this chapter I will tell you the position you would use if you use the 442 formation. It will most likely contain these players: Goalie: Usually tall. Keeps the ball out of the goal and is the only person on your team to use his hands in his box. No one can use their hands besides him. Center back: There are two of these center backs they are defenders in the middle. Center backs have to be big and strong and able to clear the ball. Lb and Rb: These positions are our defense they are the defenders on the outside. They have to be able to be quick and go up and down the field. They also have to be able to slide tackle. RM and LM: Are like the right back and left back except they go forward more. They usually put a lot of crosses and they also have to have a lot of skill they also run a lot. CM: There are two of these guys and they have to be extremely strong. There obviously in the middle of the field they have to run up and down the field. They also have to be strong on defense and good at attacking. Center forwards: There are two of these guys. They have to stay high and attack every ball that comes in to their area. They also have to be able to have a good touch and be able to score every shot they take.

10 Pelé was born on October 23 1940. Pelé is known worldwide for his amazing skills, Shots, passes, and many more things you need in soccer. At only 17 Brazil saw Pelé’s Talent and wanted him on Brazil. Pelé agreed with the deal and soon had a lot of success with Brazil he won three World Cups with Brazil over the years. Pele’s real name is Edison named after Thomas Edison. He grew up in poverty but still was able to find a way to play soccer. When he first played in a world cup match he scored a hat trick in the semi final and two goals in the final. That’s when European clubs started offering Pele on their team. One of Pelé most popular game was the World Cup in 1970 where he scored a goal to have Brazil win four the one. Later that year Pele retired from the game but many people still remember the legend. In this chapter I will show you the best players that ever played the game of soccer starting with the Pelé. These will be the top 5 in a random order.

11 Messi is no doubt the best player playing right now. He plays for FC Barcelona and Argentina and he has played for Barcelona ever since he was 13. Messi’s first name is Leo. Leo was born on June 24, 1989 with growth hormones. FC Barcelona paid for that treatment though. On May first 2005 Messi when he was 16 he scored his first goal for Barcelona. With the help of Barcelona’s new talent Barcelona won the champions league in 2009. Also into 2009 Leo won the Fifa player of the year. Into 2011 FC Barcelona won the champions league again and in 2013 Messi was named player of the year for a fourth time. Currently in 2015 Messi scored the most goals in the champions league by anyone in their career. Messi is still growing and still scoring many goals every year. Barcelona is in the champions league final for 2015. Whenever you see Messi play it’s just like you see a little blue thing running up and down the field the ball and people chasing him. He is just crazy good! In the 2014 World Cup Messi won the Golden Ball but sadly Argentina lost to Germany in the final one to zero.

12 Ronaldo is another Brazilian legend. He was born on September 18, 1976. When he was 11 his parents divorce and he dropped out of school for soccer. In 1994 he got on the a national team for Brazil and was going to the 1994 world cup. Brazil win the World Cup but Ronaldo did not play. Soon he went to a club in the Netherlands. On that team he scored almost a goal a game. Two years later he went to Barcelona for a year then to AC Milan for four years. In that time he won Fifa player of the year twice. In 1995 he won the Golden ball in the World Cup although losing to France in the final. Into thousand 11 he retired from soccer.

13 Marodona is an amazing Argentina player. He got his first soccer ball at the age of three for a birthday present. Later he began playing for a club. He was on the Argentina national team like that and won the World Cup in 1986. His most famous goal was the hand of God where he punch the ball into the net with his left hand. Later he was suspended a lot for being high and alcohol. He retired soccer in 1997. Soon in 2000 to 2004 Marodona got health problems. Soon announced was that him and Pele where the players of the night teen century. Marodona refuse this award because he did not want to Share this award with a Brazilian star. in 2008 he was hired head coach for Argentina but did not renew his contract in 2010 because of the loss to Germany. Marodona had many more amazing moments at soccer. He was amazing with the ball skills and could see the field like know one else.

14 Zidane is most famous for head-butting Marco matteraci in like 2006 World Cup. Italy later won 5 to 3 on penalties. Zidane also had an amazing career playing for Real Madrid, France, and you Jueventus. He was born on June 23, 1972. At the age of 14 he was discovered by France and spent the next three years training with them. Soon he was signed on Jueventus where he won an Italian super cup, A UEFA super cup, and an international cup and a pair of series A titles. In 1998 France hosted the World Cup and won the World Cup against Brazil in the final. Zidane scored twice and France won three to nothing. In 2001 real Madrid signed Zidane for the highest fee of $66 million. There they won La Liga and the champions league. Zidane then retired after the 2006 World Cup after he head butted Marco.

16 1 Golden Ball: The golden ball is awarded to the best player of the world cup. 2 Golden boot: The Person who scores the most goals in the World Cup. 3 Golden glove : The best goalie of the world cup 4 Penalty Kick: When someone is injured or gets hurt or slide tackled in the opposing box. 5 Pitch : A soccer field that you play on 6 Red card : When you do something extremely bad you get a red card to yellows is a red. 7 Shots : When you shoot the ball at the opposing net. 8 Yellow Card: A warning to the player.
