36 How to Certify a Multifamily Project A developer must: Join the EarthCraft House program and/or register LEED for Homes Project with USGBC Conduct a project specific green design review with as much of the design and development team as is feasible Construct an approved Scoring Worksheet or Project Checklist Update Southface contacts on schedule and any changes For LEED for Homes, complete documentation/verification submittal process Pass final inspections and pressure tests

37 EarthCraft Multifamily Program Fees Energy Modeling and inspection fees are project specific… $225/unit typical Re-inspection fees –$100 per inspected unit

47 Green Communities Fund The Georgia Cities Foundation (GCF) is a non-profit subsidiary of the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA). Its purpose is to serve as a partner and facilitator in the funding of downtown capital projects throughout Georgia. The Green Communities Fund is a new revolving loan program offered by the Georgia Cities Foundation. Made possible through a grant from the Georgia Environmental Facilities Authority (GEFA), the Green Communities Fund will provide low interest financing to business and/or property owners for energy efficient and sustainable improvements to their downtown commercial properties. As with the Foundation’s downtown loan program, the Green Communities Fund program will target downtown buildings. These low interest loans will range in loan size from $10,000 to $250,000. With energy efficiency as the objective of the program, the loans will be used for energy efficient improvements to existing businesses, renovations of existing buildings, as well as for improvements to planned new construction. p. 47 Chris Higdon: 678/651-1018 | chigdon@gmanet.com | www.GeorgiaCitiesFoundation.orgchigdon@gmanet.com
