8. Renewable Energy Program Examples www.gefa.org Rebates: Atlanta Braves will install solar PV system at Turner Field. Renewable Energy BFI Waste Systems will install a one-MW solar energy cover at the Hickory Ridge Landfill in DeKalb County. Electric Cities of GA will install solar PV, solar thermal, and wind energy systems at various municipal facilities. Lanier Technical College will install solar PV / SHW to use for NABCEP training. 8

Energy Efficiency Program Examples www.gefa.org Commercial Efficiency: Appalachian Community Enterprises, Inc will provide technical & financial assistance for small businesses to improve energy efficiency. Industrial Efficiency Association of Energy Engineers will provide Certified Energy Manager Training. Residential Efficiency Southface to provide design training sessions for builders, trade contractors, real estate agents and appraisers throughout state. 9

11. Overview of EECBG www.gefa.org GEFA received $21.6 million in EECBG funds which have been allocated amongst four activity areas. This represented a new funding opportunity for GEFA, as well as for local government recipients.

Local Government Grants (EECBG) $ 13,300,000 available for local governments that did NOT receive formula funding from U.S. DOE Based on population: Cities < 35,000 Counties < 200,000 Larger cities and counties were allocated funding directly from USDOE. 86 applications totaling $24 million in funding requests, Funds can be used for various energy efficiency and conservation activities, as defined by USDOE Funding decisions to be announced end of March. www.gefa.org

15. Georgia Cities Foundation Green Communities Fund (GCF2) www.gefa.org 15 $2,000,000 grant to Georgia Cities Foundation. Provide low interest loans for energy efficiency improvements for commercial and residential buildings in downtown areas of Georgia cities. Expansion of pre-existing revolving loan fund program. Eligible activities limited to energy efficiency improvements.
