Being prepared & ready to enjoy learning
Arriving on time Being fully equipped (pens, pencil, eraser, pencil sharpener) Bring in homework, fully completed to meet the deadline Listen carefully to instructions, observe demonstration. Read the white board for the starter activity as soon as you get in the lesson. Contributing to discussions Following advice/read feedback on previous work Trying hard Asking relevant questions

Being polite, helpful & always ready to listen
Not shouting out in class Not talking when the teacher is Handing out books or equipment Good manners Saying “please” and “thank you” Not arguing Speaking politely to others (teachers and students) Listening to others’ ideas Positive body language in lessons Washing up equipment eg. paintbrushes Be willing to try something new Apologising if something does go wrong in a lesson Following advice/feedback on previous work Improving levels/grades “Random acts of kindness”! Give the teacher or other students full attention when they are speaking in lessons

Respecting standards, regulations & the environment
Putting your own rubbish in the bins Picking up litter (not just your own!) Wearing the correct uniform Leave lessons quietly and sensibly Using appropriate language Respecting school equipment eg. textbooks Putting hand up to gain attention Cleaning up after yourself Being considerate and polite to visitors

Bring a positive attitude towards every aspect of learning
Completing all tasks to the best of your ability Listening to other people’s ideas in lessons Going the “extra mile” on a piece of work Persevere on difficult tasks Cheerful in lesson Trying your best all the time Participating in discussions etc Volunteering to take part in lessons Being happy to complete work – smiling! Working hard – regardless of ability Achieving target levels or grades Working outside of your comfort zone, taking creative risks.
