3 Linking Verbs Am, are, is, was, were Appear, become, feel, look, grow, seem, smell, taste, may be, will be, have been (Complete list on page 99 in your textbook)

4 Linking Verbs Replace verb with is, are, or am to see if it makes sense. If it does, then it is a linking verb. He feels tired. Mark appears sad.

5 Linking Verbs Examples: 1. Jessica is a student. 2. I am excited. 3. She looks sad.
