 Solar power is a form of energy that uses the worlds biggest energy source…the sun!

 More than 99% of the world’s available renewable energy is related to solar energy in one way or another.  Due to increasing environmental and climate awareness, the use of solar power has been growing over the past few years.

 Solar power is now the fastest growing form of energy, its better than the other renewable energy sources like wind and water.

 Solar energy will not pollute our air with carbon dioxide and other harmful greenhouse gases.  You need a large area to install solar panels if you want a good efficiency level.

 Solar energy can be used to heat water, dry clothes, heat swimming pools, power attic fans, power small appliances, produce light for both indoors and outdoors, and can even be used to power cars.

 Solar energy is a renewable resource.  Solar energy is non-polluting.  Solar cells require very little maintenance, meaning: (they have no moving parts that will need to be fixed), and they last a long time.  You do not have to pay for energy from the sun, so it will save you money in the long run.

 Solar powered lights and other solar powered products are very easy to install.  Solar Energy is clean, renewable (unlike gas, oil and coal) and sustainable, which is good because it is helping to protect our environment.

 One of the main disadvantages of solar energy is the high cost of having a system installed.  These systems require bright sunlight, so they won’t work on rainy days or at night, or even if there's a lot of pollution in the air.

 In 1990, a aircraft powered solely by the sun crossed the United States.  If you have a really good solar energy system, one that produces even more energy than you use, your utility company can buy it from you.

 If there is a power outage, you can still have electricity.  Solar panels operate silently.  Technology for solar energy is constantly improving.  Solar powered cars are not yet like other cars because they have a much slower speed.

 Solar flashlights can last for 3 years by just charging it one time.
