Digital Literacy – the skills in using the information that technological devices carry and also the skills in using the devices as well. Information literacy – required set of skills when students do background research for projects or reports

New strategies to foster reading and writing EX: Wordle – high frequency words New strategies requiring social interaction – students positioned as experts, helping redefine student-teacher relationships; not traditional classroom EX: Blogs

Teachers are turning to interactive and visual qualities of software and websites to increase motivation. Teachers find it a problem to motivate students to express themselves in writing.
