1 Plumbing

2 What Plumbing is all about
Plumbing trade schools can offer you the opportunity to pursue a future in an in-demand, practical career field. If you love working with your hands and enjoy challenging work, becoming a plumber could be a sound career choice for you. It's a given that plumbers handle clogged drains and burst pipes, but the truth is that they are responsible for far more than you might think. For example, plumbers help design the inner workings and placement of pipes within houses, make it possible to cook with a gas oven, create safe ways to utilize the power of highly pressurized steam in the manufacturing industry, and even deliver clean oxygen to hospital patients.

3 Types of equipment generally used
There are many different types of tools used in the trade of plumbing. Some are… Hacksaw: Use this versatile saw to cut through metal pipe, hardware, screws, nuts and bolts and plastic pipe. Plunger: It's the first tool to grab when you need to dislodge clogs from sinks, tubs, toilets, showers and floor drains. Pipe Wrench: These large, heavy wrenches are used to tighten and loosen threaded pipes, fittings and nuts. Plumbers Putty: Plumber’s putty is a soft pliable caulking and sealing compound that is used to make watertight seals around faucets and drains. Allen Wrench Set: Many designer faucet and shower handles are held on with Allen screws. They are easy to remove but of course you have to have the right size Allen wrench. Loose Allen keys work well because you can get them into almost any position and tight places. Screw Drivers: Many shapes and sizes are preferred because there are so many different types of screws to remove when doing plumbing repairs. Examples are faucet handles, overflow plates, tub spouts and more. Compression Sleeve Puller: Removes the nut and compression sleeve without damaging the pipe. Basin Wrench: A Basin wrench is a self tightening wrench which can be used to loosen or tighten fittings in hard to reach places.
