3 For 1 EPC case study You need to have a case study file which contains:  1. Enquiry Management Form. 2. DIARY EXTRACT. 3. Accepting Instruction. 4. Terms and Conditions. 5. Seller Questionnaire. 6. GOOGLE MAP OF PROPERTY. 7. AA AUTO ROUTE DIRECTIONS TO PROPERTY. 8. Risk Assessment DEA. 9. RdSAP Site Notes. 10 Floor plan. 11 Customer Care Survey. 13. PRINT OUT OF EPC. 14 Printout of site notes 15. Photographs template. 16 Rationale. 17 Invoice. 18. Completion letter.

4 What is an accreditation body? Delegated responsibility for managing energy assessors ( previously called certification schemes) Purpose is to accredit energy assessors who are ‘fit and proper’ persons, by: Checking that they are appropriately qualified Police checked (CRB or Basic Disclosure) Insurance Annual licence renewal Check the quality and consistency of reports by auditing work Developing standard forms CPD and updating conventions to DEA

5 Auditing Monitoring is a crucial part of DEA It is important to understand why you must adhere to the audit requirements Failing to supply audits can result in your membership being suspended Failing to supply adequate information can also result in an automatic fail Accreditation schemes are required to carry out a minimum audit of 2% of all lodgements Participate in developing conventions

6 What Are Conventions? Conventions set standard terms of practice and allow for the specification of non-standard items/entries They standardise the assessment process, in that every assessor will be following the same conventions, meaning they should arrive at the same conclusion for a particular circumstance Generally, they set out the rules and parameters of certain aspects of a survey They are in place to provide clarity on any ‘grey’ areas that could be open to interpretation

7 Licence and accreditation Software is free Lodgment fees – between £4 and £7, this may include ‘Landmark’ fees for national database management Maybe free membership with some accreditation schemes? Homework 1 – Check accreditation websites and prices to choose which scheme you want to go for Homework 2- Look at the ‘Sampling and Cloning’ training slides and make notes so you understand this concept and also it will help you with templates for your ’One- off’ letters

10 Conducting the inspection 7. Nothing in this Schedule shall be construed as requiring a DEA to— Inspect such parts of the property as are not reasonably accessible on the day of the inspection; or Move furniture, fittings or personal items at the property during an inspection. Only report what they see on the site visit and not any promises of future installations that a property owner proposes

12 You are required to complete 10 hours of CPD for DEA The following are all considered acceptable forms of CPD: New product ranges Particular property types in an individual's area of work (e.g. system build, thatch) Any certificated lecture/ presentation on products and services New innovations that are not fundamental to the role they are undertaking Renewable Technologies Improvement in the use of IT skills and/ or written records You will need to supply satisfactory evidence of your CPD such as a certificate of attendance or email with dates etc.

13 WHAT ISN'T ACCEPTABLE? The following are not acceptable forms of CPD: Training courses (leading to certification) Software changes Changes in building regulations Changes in DCLG guidance These are all considered fundamental learning in order to practice as a DEA, and therefore do not count as further development
