 Have you ever wondered why there are so many different kinds of breads?  Or why bread is so enjoyable and delicious?  And even where bread came from and how did it end up in America?

In Egypt they discovered if you crush wheat into small pieces it becomes a paste and then can be set over fire to form a flat bread. Ancient Greeks learned from Egyptians and then taught the Romans. Soon after, bread spread across the nation.

Bread is essential to us in America and around the world. Bread is extremely popular because it’s delicious and easy to make. Bread mainly consists of flour and water, but also has additional ingredients. Other ingredients include: salt, yeast, baking soda, milk, eggs, and sugar.

White bread is the most popular in our country, and wheat bread is the second most popular. Quick breads are also really easy to make and they do not take much time.

Today, we have machines to make bread for us, because in restaurants it is quicker and easier since so many people love bread and always want more.

Bread is very healthy for our bodies and has many proteins we need everyday. We should eat bread once a day or every other day. Do not put much butter or any at all, it makes it less nutritious and more fattening.
