Multiplication and Division problems use the same numbers. These groups of numbers are called number or fact families 7 3 21 x ÷ They all fit together.
3
Once you know the numbers in the number family, you’ll be able to memorize all of your multiplication and division problems! It’s a SLAM dunk!
4
7 x 3 = 21 3 x 7 = ÷ 7 = 3 ÷ 3 = 7
5
Use the numbers 8 and 5 Start with the number 8 8x5 = 40 5 x8 = ÷8= 5 ÷ 5 =8
6
Now, let’s try some multi-digit multiplication! 312 x 4 1.First multiply 4x2 = 8 2. Next multiply 4x1 = 4 3. Last multiply 4x3 = 12 8412,
7
Let’s try more! 414 x 4 1.First multiply 4x4 = 16 2. Put the 6 in the ones place and carrying the 1 to the tens place. 6 1 3.Next multiply 4x1 = 4 and add the 1 that was carried. 4+1 = 5 5 4. Last multiply 4x4 = 16 16,
8
Are you ready for one more? 547 x 8 1. First multiply 8x7 = 56 2. Put the 6 in the ones place and carrying the 5 to the tens place. 3. Next multiply 8x4 = 32 and add the 5 that was carried. 32+5 = 37 4. Put the 7 in the tens place and carrying the 3 to the hundreds place. 5. Last multiply 8x5 = 40 and add the 3 that was carried. 40+3 = 43 6 5 7 3 43,
