The Queen of the Channel Islands The island of Jersey sits in the Bay of St Malo, just 19 miles (or 30.5 km) from the French coast and 85 miles (137 km) south of the English coast. It is 5 miles (8 km) long and 9 miles (14.5 km) wide. Climate : temperate with mild winters thanks to Gulf Stream and best sunshine record in the British Isles

Currency The pound is the currency of Jersey. Jersey issues its own pound notes and coins. English pounds are accepted in Jersey. The cash tills generally give Jersey notes. Jersey pound notes are generally not accepted in England.
