Let’s start with the good news. There are some really great, innovative companies that have dynamic, people-first cultures and deliver outstanding service. Top LOs want to be associated with that. All people want to be part of a positive (true) story that is bigger than themselves. The stories must address the people and their accomplishment and values. They must describe a customer-first, efficient process. They must describe a commitment to delivering products in demand in the marketplace. Finally, these stories must connect the company directly to a place..as a community member committed to making things better. Managers and leaders must continually tell the story so LOs know it well enough to make it their own and to share it.
