Rhythm Time signature
3
A time signature is a fraction found at the beginning of a piece of music, after the clef and key signature. Time signatures regulate rhythm by organizing beats in two ways:time signatureclefkey signaturerhythm
4
The top number shows how many beats occur in each measure. beatsmeasure The bottom number shows the length of the beats: A 4 means each beat is a quarter note long; a 2 indicates a half note, etc.
5
This time signature means there are four quarter notes ( or any combination of notes that equal four quarter notes )in one measure.
6
The 4/4 time signature is the most commonly used in almost every genre of music.." 4/4 time doesn’t have to be written as numbers. Four four time is used so much it's often called common time, written as a bold C instead of the two numbers.
7
Therefore, a 4/4 time signature has four beats per measure, with each beat equalling the length of a quarter note. A 3/4 time signature has three quarter-note beats per measure.
9
How we count the rhythm value
10
Time signatures organize beats, but the speed of a song depends on its tempo.
