6 How is the Badger Exam practice test different from the Smarter Practice Test? 6 Smarter Balanced Practice TestBadger Exam Practice Test Purpose A range of grade specific items Exposure to a range of item formats Exposure to a range of item difficulties Note: Interface differs from the Badger Exam Exposure to the software and interface features that mimics the testing engine for the Badger Exam Included universal tools, designated supports, and accommodations * Grade level Individual assessments in ELA and mathematics at each grade level, 3 – 8 2 assessments at the following grade spans o 3-5 o 6-8 Type of Items Approximately 30 items in ELA and 30 items in Mathematics per grade level 1 ELA PT and 1 mathematics PT per grade level Approximately 14 items per grade band (7 in ELA and 7 in Mathematics) Includes 1 ELA PT and 1 mathematics PT per grade band * Text-to-speech and Braille are available only when accessing the Badger Practice Test through the secure browser

13 Do we need headphones for every student? Yes, there is a listening component in the ELA test. So all students need headphones. Do we need a mouse for every student? A pointing device is needed. This could be a touchpad or a mouse.

23 Badger Exam Test Operations Management System – Establishing users – All DACs added as users by DPI as of January 30, 2015 – Username and temporary password for DACs will be sent via e-mail from badger-toms-noreply@ets.orgbadger-toms-noreply@ets.org – Temporary password expires in 30 days – DACs are responsible for establishing other district and school level users and/or working with SACS to add Test Administrators VERY IMPORTANT: Whitelist emails from badger-toms-noreply@ets.org to ensure users receive TOMS access informationbadger-toms-noreply@ets.org

28 TEST ADMINISTRATION

29 Prior to Testing – Review the Practice Tests – Read and understand the Test Security Manual – Review the Usability, Accessibility, and Accommodation Guidelines and ensure that proctors must adhere to the accessibility and accommodation policy as listed in the UAAG for all students including the students with IEPs, Section 504 Plans, or ELLs – Ensure that you are aware of FERPA and your district’s student privacy policies, importance of student privacy and ensure that any reference to Wisconsin Student Numbers (WSNs) is kept secure.

31 Who should Proctor the Badger Exam? A qualified proctor for the Badger Exam is an employed district staff member who has been trained in test administration and test security, who is familiar with the test administration and instructions and is capable of following standardized procedures. For more information on Proctoring see the Test Administration Manual (TAM).

32 Is it required that the Confidentiality Agreement be signed by all teachers who proctor the test? Yes. Anyone who has access to the test should sign the confidentiality agreement. The form is electronic and agreement is required to gain access to the system.
