14 Prioritize 1. The international experience is part of your education at the Stamps School. Planning for it requires considerable time and effort from each individual student. It cannot be done in an hour or two. Or even a day or two. It takes months of planning. 2. Real excuses heard from students: I was busy with my internship. I have to work. I have soccer practice. I didn’t have Internet access. I was on vacation. My computer was being fixed.

15 Do your homework 1. Make a 4-year plan of study and update it annually. 2. Using that plan, identify which term you plan to go abroad. 3. Know which classes you need during that term. 4. Identify your financial resources. Understand your financial aid package and its applicability to study abroad programs.

16 Consequences of procrastination 1. Delay graduation by a semester 2. Miss scholarship deadlines 3. Squander the chance to leverage this opportunity to meet multiple personal goals 4. Fewer program options 5. Less choice of coursework
