Highlights on the features of the Assessment System
Grades ( 1 – 5 )
Students in grades (1 – 5) be promoted to upper grade automatically.
Finale score for all subjects is 100 degrees.
Remedial programs applied at the end of the school year.
Continuous assessment is apply on ALL subjects.
According to the MOE assessment system,
students in grades (1 – 5) be promoted to upper grade automatically where no repetition in this grade. (WE FOCUS ON BUILDING UP STUDENTS’ SKILLS RATHER THAN EVALUTING THEIR PERFORMANCE)
Finale score for all subjects is 100 degrees. However, if students fail to obtain 50% of the total mark they will be involved with remedial programs at the end of the school year, and if they still fail, the student will involve in another remedial programs at the beginning of the following year in line with that year grade subjects.
Continuous assessment is applied for all subjects through different evaluation tools, written tests prepared by the teachers at the end of each unit of the subject, classroom activities such as oral, written activities, and performance practical, and non-classroom activities such as project, research and portfolio.

Grades ( 6 – 9 )
Subjects divided to two groups.
Continuous assessment (40%) & End of Trimester test (60%)
Final score for all subjects 100, Minimum 50%
According to the MOE assessment system,
There are 2 type of assessments: Continuous assessment which take 40% of the total mark 100% & the End of trimester test which takes 60%.
Subjects divided to two groups; Main subjects (Islamic education, Arabic, English, Math, Science).
The other are History and Geography.

The scientific or literary section for grades ( 11 – 12 ).
Final score for all subjects 100, Minimum 50% (Minimum 60%).
Continuous assessment (40%) & End of Trimester test (60%).
Standardized test is applied to students in grade 12 at the end of each Trimester.
According to the MOE assessment system,
Students in grade 10 study ALL subjects; (Islamic education, Arabic, English, Math, Science; Biology, Chemistry and Earth science and Physics, History and Geography).
However, students in grades ( 11 – 12 ) study subjects based on the section that they have chosen (scientific or literary) section.
Finale score for all subjects in grades (10 -12) is 100 degrees. The minimum score for grade (10 – 11) is 50% and 60% for grade 12 ​​for all subjects.
Standardized test is applied to students in grade 12 at the end of each trimester.

Overview
National assessment based on the Ministry curriculum.
Administered annually every year since
Assessment at Grades 3, 5, 7 and 9 areas in the 4 core subjects of Arabic, English, Mathematics and Science.
Diagnostic Reports for all students (what students know and can do).
Monitor progress over time.
The United Arab Emirates National Assessment Program (UAENAP) is a continuation of the Ministry’s evaluation of the outcomes of education throughout the Emirates.
The current program was started in 2010/2011 with a program that assessed the students who attended public schools.
Since 2012 the program has included all the students attending public and private schools (applied the MOE curriculum).
Assess the students in a curriculum areas in the 4 core subjects of Arabic (Reading, Spelling and Writing), English (Reading, Spelling and Writing), Mathematics and Science.
The UAENAP program provides information to a wide variety of stakeholders by reporting the achievement of students in a curriculum areas in these 4 core subjects.
This information is a valuable resource to guide planning and interventions at all levels of the educational environment and to monitor progress over time.

Evaluate effectiveness of classroom.

Principals can identify weaker performing classes or sections. Also, the data shows them areas of weakness that are across the grade or in a particular section or in a particular subject to address teacher effectiveness.
The data highlights particular strengths and weaknesses in individuals or groups and helps teachers plan remedial interventions , monitor students and track their progress over time.

13. Participating in TIMSS & PIRLS
Provide decision makers with international comparisons to measure our students’ performance.
Assess the students’ knowledge and skills in reading, mathematics and science among a large number of participating students from different countries.
Identify the surrounding factors that affect students’ performance and achievements in these three subjects.
Administrating TIMSS & PIRLS 2011 across the UAE, as a first time,
will provide decision makers with international comparisons to measure our students’ performance.

في PIRLS نجح الطلبة في دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة في تحقيق أعلى المستويات في القراءة بين الدول العربية. تتساوى نتائج الدولة في الرياضيات مع البحرين في الصف الرابع بينما تصنف نتائج الدولة في المرتبة الثانية في مادة العلوم بفوارق غير دالة احصائيا عن طلبة المملكة العربية السعودية.
