3 InAWARE Project Overview
Rationale: To improve early warning and disaster management (DM) decision making outcomes through enhanced capacity within national and provincial disaster management agencies: Enhanced access to automated international, regional, and national hazard information, Improved information-sharing between agencies, and Effective dissemination of alerts and warnings to at-risk communities.

7 Project Outcomes 1 of 2 Deployment, customization and operation of a BNPB- hosted Indonesian-national version of DisasterAWARE: InAWARE Stakeholder engagement and workshops Deployment of InAWARE at BNPB in Jakarta Incorporation of DM/DRR-relevant datasets, including both baseline (static) and hazard (dynamic) data Incorporation of provincially-relevant datasets Development and institutionalization of a Concept of Operations (CONOPS) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for use of InAWARE within the Indonesian DM context Survey of existing decision-making processes and technology capabilities National CONOPS and SOPs development Expansion of CONOPS and SOPs to the provincial level

8 Project Outcomes 2 of 2 Strengthened capacity at national and subnational levels to access and apply (and maintain) InAWARE by certified InAWARE users (and system administrators) Implementation of a Train-the-Trainer program within BNPB’s Disaster Management Training and Education Center Formalized mechanisms for coordination between BNPB and ASEAN AHA Centre to facilitate information sharing and disaster management decision making Development of Standard Operating Procedures and technical processes MOU between BNPB and AHA Centre for sharing DisasterAWARE-based information
