Imagery is an attempt to appeal to the senses. Foreshadowing is clues about what will happen.

9 Literary Terms The setting is the time and place of the story.
The rising action is the events before the climax. The falling action is the events after the climax. The plot is the total of the rising action, climax, and falling action.
