1 2011 ADC ANNUAL CONFERENCE| PAGE 1 1 Reaching Our Audience  First use of Facebook was to inform the flying public on new Brunswick Executive Airport opening (April, 2011)  Expanded to include redevelopment and other special events such as the Great State of Maine Air Show  Results:  Audience is both diverse and loyal  Many of our “friends” advocate for us in online discussions  Great feedback, positive and negative, helps to improve our processes  Businesses outside the local area have said that they found out about us through social media  Pilots flying to Maine have used the airport as a result of online discussions

2 Current Uses Three Facebook pages cover redevelopment efforts and special events Other specialized online sites such as airshowbuzz.com

3 Future Proposed future uses of social media – Twitter We will have an “official tweeter” at the air show Real time announcements directed at interested audience – iphone and ipad aps Local companies have produced aps for local tourist destinations Possible uses include: – Direct users to tenant businesses and ticket web sites for special events – Real time couponing options available for tenant restaurants and hotels
