2 Abstract המעבדה למערכות ספרתיות מהירות High speed digital systems laboratory 2 This project implements a.NET software application, relies on SQL Server and interface to CAN elements. The application should be able to send & receive CANOpen events from a pre defined interface. The response to each event will be determined according to a data stored in a database, based on a user defined configuration. For instance, a CAN device can be a student-card-reader, like the one in the entrance to each faculty. The card sends an event consists of the student ID, and the system can decide whether to send an event to the door to open or a message regarding a intruder.

3 System description המעבדה למערכות ספרתיות מהירות High speed digital systems laboratory 3 The Access Control System consists of two major components. The first component is the ACS application. This application runs as a windows service, responding to events received from the CANOpen network. The second component, ACSWebApp, supplies a friendly web application user interface for configuring the ACS application and events handling.

No hardware was used directly in the implementation of this project. The system must have a web-based user interface, Should be able to send and receive events according to a modifiable configuration, should be able to send emails and events to a similar remote system over TCP/IP network. Should have modular design.
