Lathrop School, Calisthenics Why we picked this. Information we found on it. What we think about it.

Why We Picked It We found this by searching for motion pictures. We chose this one because it looks like they are in gym class and we have gym class too. Back

Information We Found on It CREATED/PUBLISHED United States : American Mutoscope & Biograph Company, 1904. SUMMARY A group of preadolescent boys and girls is standing in a row facing the camera position. In back of them is a wall on which is written "Kansas City, Mo." As the film progresses, the students go through a series calisthenics, performing them in unison, and continue this throughout the film. NOTES Copyright: American Mutoscope & Biograph Company; 02May04; H45152. Back

What We Think About It We think that this was made to show students how to exercise. After watching this we think that we would be hot. All of the students look like they are in their school uniforms. We did notice that the flag in the background was moving so the window must have been open. It looks like they had a lot of practice. We think that Ms. Blue was their teacher. Back

Come up, Horsey, Hey, Hey Why we picked this. Information we found on it. What we think about it. Come up, Horsey, Hey, Hey

Why We Picked It We found it in the sound recording section of the website. We liked it because it sounds like a fun sound and we like horses. Come up, Horsey, Hey, Hey Back

Information We Found on It PERFORMER(S) Hall, Vera DATE 5/26/1939 FORMAT sound recording INSTRUMENTATION vocals with humming LOCATION On porch of home of Mr. & Mrs. W.P. Tartt, Livingston, Sumter County, Alabama Copyright American Memory, Library of Congress Come up, Horsey, Hey, Hey Back

What We Think About It We thing that it was made so that other people could hear it and people liked the way she could sing. When we listen to it, it sounds like it could be a song that you could sing yourself when you are doing work like cleaning your bedroom. We thought it was funny that it was recorded on her porch. Back Come up, Horsey, Hey, Hey

Sutler's tent at Army of the Potomac Headquarters Why we picked this. Information we found on it. What we think about it.

Why We Picked It Our group found this photograph by searching for prints and photographs. We then searched the collection of Civil War photographs. Sutler's tent at Army of the Potomac Headquarters Back We liked this photograph because it is different for the one we saw while studying the Civil War in Social Studies.

Information We Found on It CREATED/PUBLISHED 1863 August. SUMMARY Photograph from the main eastern theater of war, Meade in Virginia, August-November 1863. PART OF Selected Civil War photographs, 1861-1865 (Library of Congress) SPECIAL TERMS OF USE No known restrictions on publication. Sutler's tent at Army of the Potomac Headquarters Back

What We Think About It We think that the photographer took a picture of this to show what a camp looks like. It is a picture of the civil war that show the what the soldiers do during their free time. When we first looked at this we noticed that there were not a lot of trees. We also noticed that there are a lot of barrels. We think that the people must have been to war for a long time because all of their beards are really long. We would not have liked to be there. It seems like it would be pretty lonely without your family. Back Sutler's tent at Army of the Potomac Headquarters
