Recap... Project EASY nowfuture -2-3 ONS Borough Ward LSOA EASY ONS EASY GLA ONS 2001 Census GLA Locally accessed data sets Up-to-the-moment estimates Small geographical areas (LSOA) Can be carried out locally by analysts Good quality data

Dwelling stock by Council Tax bands Project EASY Valuation Office Agency Assumptions: everyone living in an LSOA lives in a property; all properties are registered for Council Tax. Therefore, for a given stock of dwellings, determine the population that inhabit them. Build and check model for 2001 (census and MYE) and then move forward.

Modelling total Council Tax properties (2001 census) Project EASY

Modelling dwelling type and population from 2001 census Project EASY

Council Tax bands and household size Project EASY

Occupied Households Child Benefit Records Dwelling Counts by Council Tax Band Households without Dependent Children Families with Dependent Children Population in Households without Dependent Children Population in Families with Dependent Children Total Estimated Population Houses with Multiple Occupancy School Census Structure of the model Project EASY Separate model for each Borough

Stepwise multiple regression (CT & MHO) Project EASY LA_NAME = Barking and Dagenham

Variables by Borough Project EASY So, what are the results....... Once built, the relationships are assumed to broadly remain between censuses and by plugging in the variables for each subsequent year, the population can be estimated at LSOA....even up-to-the-moment.
