3 Intensive Course on University Management Is a target of this travel (activity #1.3) The expert commission from KhTURE: -Head of Studies Office -Head of International Department -Head of AI Department -Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science -Head of Office for International Projects and Programs -Lectures

4 ECTS- a tool for credit transfer Lecturer: International Coordinator Mr. Miika Kekki As a result of the lecture and discussion new activities we’ll develop at our home university: For the following academic year (2000/2001): 1.To develop and approve on university level ”The statement about international exchange” and the prototype of ”Learning agreement” 2.To publish a manual for using ECTS in studies 3.To start development of ECTS information system 4.To introduce a possition of university international coordinator 5.To decide what faculties will use ECTS already in 2000/2001 years and to introduce a possition of faculty international coordinator (as a minimum – faculty of CS, department of AI)

6 Organisation and launching of a recruitment service for students Lecturer: Senior Career Advisor Mr Juha Lahti As a result of the lecture and discussion new activities we’ll develop at our home university: 1.To organise a Career Service 2.To develop and maintain a database of all graduates 3.To teach how to write CV, to present yourself, to pass interview through the course ”Businests skills” 4.To open new specialities according to industry needs 5.To organise an Information Office for youth - this is the topic of our new TEMPUS project!

7 Contacts with business sector Lecturer: Research Liaison Dr. Sirkka-Liisa Korppi-Tommola As a result of the lecture and discussion new activities we’ll develop at our home university: 1.To reduce budget costs for the administative staff of the research institute 2.To organise central office for development of business contracts 3.To introduce a contracts for Master’s Theses.

9 Faculty administration Lecturer: Dean of the Faculty of IT Prof. Kalle Lyytinen As a result of the lecture and discussion new activities we’ll develop at our home university: To distribute a staff possitions and an equipment between faculties according to the number of non-budget students that are studying on the faculty Main difficulty to provide more new activities: Impossibility of full financial independence of faculties
