3. The Story The farmer has lots of fruit. There are lots of oranges, bananas and papayas. He is very happy. Something is wrong. There aren’t many bananas in the box. “Where are all my bananas? “ he thinks. He goes to look for the other bananas, but he can’t find them. Now there aren’t any bananas in the box! The farmer is very angry. He looks in the tree. There is a monkey eating his bananas!

4. This Course Focuses on Listening (I) I. Introduction Listening is very important, but many people tend to believe the listening competence will be increased with exposure. It is totally wrong. Leaner must comprehend whatever they hear to ensure production. In order to enhance competence, we apply picture, pantomime, and realia step by step.

7. Lesson Plan (Description of the Class) For our sixth grade English class, this course is designed to let the student to listen to the tape of a story “Where Are My Bananas?” twice at normal speed. Then, the students compile the whole story by different games. At the end of the class, each student has to write his one-page essay.

8. Lesson Plan (Outcomes) Outcomes: Students are interested in the lecture because they want to win (award). Students will listen to the tape carefully and be able to draw out the meaning of the story. Listening to the tape two times, students will become familiar with the native accent, stability speech, pitch, intonation and content. Ensuring students comprehends 100 %.

11. Lesson Plan (Process 1~2) Process: Step 1: Warm up Tell students the countable nouns and uncountable nouns that appear in the story. Countable nouns: farmer, box, oranges, bananas, papayas, tree, and monkey Uncountable noun: fruit. Do some question-and-answer drill. Step 2: Listen to the tape once and play story puzzle game.

12. Lesson Plan (Process 3~4) Step 3 : Divide the class into tow groups, give each group a set of sentence cards. Then, compile the whole story on the blackboard. Step 4 : Listen to the tape again and have students pay attention to the correct answer.

13. Lesson Plan (Process 5) Step 5: The teacher reads each line and students repeat after her. The teacher explains each line with some actions while each line is read. For example, when the teacher reads, “The farmer has lots of fruit”, she can make a big circle with her arms and pretends she has lots of fruit. Encourage students to follow her reading. Make sure each paragraph is clearly explained before proceeding to the next one. Using the pictures on this reading page to help students to understand the passage better.

14. Lesson Plan (Process 6) Step 6: Play “read aloud and fast sentence” game. Still have the same two groups and assign each student responsible for one sentence. When teacher read one of ten sentences once, the students who responsible for the sentence will read it aloud and fast, the student read aloud and fast will win the game and get positive reinforcement.
