10 What is Financial Data Quality Management (FDM)?
FDM is a business issue defined as the practice which includes the following factors: Financial data collection and transformation Repeatable processes Internal controls Audit trails with drill- through Write-back to source systems Significant business challenges Disparate source systems Inconsistent account structure Errors in data and metadata collection Financial restatements Weak controls Lack of visibility into processes and controls Synchronization between ERP and EPM Benefits to following an FDM process: Increased confidence in data Decreased cost of compliance Elimination of data integrity risks Documented and defined repeatable processes Improved cycle times during periodic processing

11 Oracle EPM Delivers Confidence with FDM
Investigate issues using available audit trails and dynamic drill-through Collect, transform and synchronize data from many disparate sources – ERP, File, etc. Business users define integrations in a single repository and run as a repeatable process Secure and control access to data and application features

12 Financial Data Quality Management, Enterprise Edition
Oracle’s solution for the FDM business process Combines ERP Integrator (ERPI) and FDM into a single product Upgrades ERPI to FDMEE with FDM features added Built on the Fusion Middleware platform First available in EPM release Existing FDM customers may upgrade to FDMEE FDM and FDMEE may be run in parallel New customers may only install FDMEE Legacy FDM not available starting with release Additional license fees are NOT required to migrate to FDMEE FDM Adapters – Licensing remains the same

18 Overview of B/E Aerospace, Inc.
B/E Aerospace, Inc. 4B in Revenues, Listed on NASDAQ designs, manufactures, sells, and services cabin interior products for commercial aircraft and business jets in the United States and internationally. Oracle/Hyperion Software Currently being used by B/E Hyperion Financial Close Suite and OBIEE which included (HFM, DRM, FDQM, Planning, EAL, HFR, Essbase, ERP-I, HFR, Smart View, OBIEE, and UPK) JD Edwards World & EONE for it’s main General Ledger Package. B/E has always had a lot of organic growth as well as continued to grow its brand through acquisitions giving B/E. It’s because of the M&A that B/E now currently has over 30 different ERP systems with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne as its Main GL Package. The Oracle Hyperion Financial Close Suite with OBIEE has allowed B/E to become more efficient at solving complex problems faster, significantly reduced the time it takes to perform pre and post acquisitions activities, and was architected to be both lean yet scalable without the need for additional headcount all while contributing to the goal of increasing shareholder value. B/E’s decision to make a significant investment in areas of Oracle Hyperion Financial Close Suite, and Business Intelligence were primarily driven by such factors as; An aggressive M&A Strategy, the Oracle Hyperion Financial Close Suite gave B/E the ability to rapidly reduce the time and cost it had historically taken B/E to integrate the financials of a newly acquired company from six months down to just three weeks. Upgrading from JD Edwards World to EnterpriseOne and with it a full chart of accounts re-design to be able to meet the demands of a data intense business. These tools ultimately gave B/E the ability to acquire, integrate, and standardize the way it consumed large amounts of data, giving senior management the ability to “act quicker” and be more proactive in its’ strategic initiatives. It allowed for the a more fluid and streamline global finance model across many disparate enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems as well as multiple reporting structures to provide a single, consistent, reliable source of critical business information.

19 Overview of B/E Aerospace, Inc. - Continued
Although it was a 5 Year Road Map with eleven application suites in total, the first two years were spent proving the value of the Oracle Hyperion Financial Close Suite to both the finance user community and senior management. Data marts were architected off of JD Edwards World giving rise to many purpose built Hyperion Essbase Cubes to assist the owners of the data in identifying weaknesses with their current processes. Other tools like Hyperion Financial Data Quality Management, reducing the time it took to integrate and financials of new acquisition using such tools as FDQM from six months to just three weeks. Between second half of 2011 until the end of 2014 the remaining nine applications suites were successfully rolled out across the company which included (HFM, DRM, ERP-I, Planning, EAL, HFR, Smart View, OBIEE, and UPK) . With the Oracle Hyperion Financial Close Suite, the time to integrate ERP financials from newly acquired companies was reduced from 6 months down to 3 weeks. Implementing the Oracle Hyperion Financial Close Suite and Business Intelligence helped save 80+% time on Data Analysis & Mining, giving senior management the ability to “act quicker” and be more proactive in its strategic initiatives B/E’s decision to make a significant investment in areas of Oracle Hyperion Financial Close Suite, and Business Intelligence were primarily driven by such factors as; An aggressive M&A Strategy, the Oracle Hyperion Financial Close Suite gave B/E the ability to rapidly reduce the time and cost it had historically taken B/E to integrate the financials of a newly acquired company from six months down to just three weeks. 20 5 Year Business Intelligence Strategic Road Map
A five-year end-to-end Business Intelligence strategy was developed and put into action in 2009. All strategic and financial goals were met on-time and in some cases under-budget. One of the keys to success for B/E stems from the Corporate finance teams entrepreneurial spirit and taking full ownership of the eleven software applications. By taking advantage of such great Oracle programs as virtual learning on each of the eleven software applications, in addition to drive, determination, taking risks, and never taking no for an answer. There was never a business problem we couldn’t solve with either one or a combination of these tools. This is what made the us successful, this is what made us subject matter experts in all eleven software applications. You can’t go at such a large undertaking alone, sometimes you need the knowledge and the expertise of a System Integrator to help you achieve success. For B/E our System Integrator was Perficient who on every project came in on-time and in some cases under budget, The reason for the successful partnership stems from B/E Corporate Finance staff being fully engaged and doing work along side Perficient to ensure each the project success. After a successful roll of the Hyperion Financial Close Suite and OBIEE which included (HFM, FDQM, Planning, EAL, HFR, Essbase, ERP-I, HFR, Smart View, OBIEE, and UPK) to 500+ finance users to roll-up both daily supplemental and monthly financials, forecasts, annual operating and multi-year strategic plans, and has allowed Senior Management at B/E to smarter business decisions faster and continue to provide growth and shareholder value for years to come.

21 Master Data Management - DRM
Hyperion Data Relationship Management (DRM) would be the final software implemented as part of the 5-Year Business Intelligence Road Map. It’s sole purpose was to provide a Central Repository for Creating, Maintaining, and Rapidly Deploying Hierarchies in the Hyperion Financial Close Suite. With over thirty different General Ledger packages at B/E, there were two Hyperion Products that would bring them together. The first was FDQM with the second being DRM. SQL Packages were written to extract live Metadata associated with all 30+ ERP Mapping Tables. The Metadata was then combined with various dimensions being managed inside of DRM. The Goal was to bring together hierarchies from over 30 different ERP systems and implement a solution which was lean (no additional headcount requirements), scalable, and would enhance Corporate Finance’s ability to implement business analytic solutions for the finance community faster and more efficiently as B/E continues to grow.

22 Integrating General Ledgers using FDQM
FDQM HFM Adapter FDQM Load Locations FDQM Import Format Hyperion Financial Data Quality Management became the BE’s ETL tool of choice not just with JD Edwards but with the other ERP’s as well. After the Adapter was imported into the FDQM Workbench it was customized to meet the needs of the BE HFM Application. Instead of having multiple load locations for the same Entity like in Hyperion Enterprise, the way the BE HFM Application was designed allowed for a single load of a trial balance to meet all of BE’s reporting needs. ERP Company Number Prefixes were used where possible to allow every singe entity the ability to load their own financial trial balances. Some of the twenty ERP’s lack the ability to produce a financial trial balance file to be imported into FDQM, because of this many custom scripts were written in an attempt to clean the data up before it gets imported into HFM.

23 Integrating General Ledgers using FDQM Contin.
FDQM HFM Adapter FDQM Custom SQL Import Scripts After the Adapter was imported into the FDQM Workbench it was customized to allow end users the ability to drill back to journal level detail from an alternate scenario in HFM. Thirteen of the Custom User Defined Dimensions were made active in order to accommodate all of the journal information from the ERP data marts. Custom import scripts were written to import the journal records from a data mart into FDQM.

24 Integrating General Ledgers using FDQM Contin.
HFM Ad-Hoc Analysis in Smart View Excel displayed at the lowest level intersection. After the Adapter was imported into the FDQM Workbench it was customized to allow end users the ability to drill back to journal level detail from an alternate scenario in HFM. Thirteen of the Custom User Defined Dimensions were made active in order to accommodate all of the journal information from the ERP data marts. Custom import scripts were written to import the journal records from a data mart into FDQM.

25 Integrating General Ledgers using ERP-I.
HFM Ad-Hoc Analysis in Smart View Excel displayed at the lowest level intersection where a Finance user can drill-through from excel smart view directly into EnterpriseOne. In conjunction with the ERP Upgrade from JD Edwards World to EnterpriseOne another project was put into motion which although similar to the FDQM Journal Drill-Through to a snapshot of Data, ERP-I would give the Finance User the ability to Drill-Through to a live session in EnterpriseOne. Giving the End User the ability to drill through to journals entries in a live session of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne has reduced the overall inquiry and analysis time by about 80%.

26 Integrating General Ledgers using HFM & OBIEE.
Some other ways BE has leveraged the integration between JD Edwards and the Hyperion Financial Close Suite is by building a 15 Dimension Daily HFM Application. This application allows for the fast near real-time analytics in Sales, Orders, Backlog, Customer and Vendor Aging, Payroll. Custom Dimensions include Product, Sales Market Channel, Bill-To and Ship-To Geographic Region, Customer, Vendors, etc. Essbase, Planning, all great tools but nothing in the Hyperion Suite of Products can translate and consolidate as fast and as accurate as HFM. 365/6 Periods can consolidate in as little as six minutes, with nearly 8k customers and 4.5k vendors. No more user x having to wake-up 6AM, EPMA’s Data synchronization and Task Flow modules. The Daily Application re-loads all changes to the metadata via Interface Tables, redeploys the application, loads both data and daily exchange rates, consolidates, runs reports, and s me all by 1:30AM EDT. That entire process manually takes about 1-1 ½ hours but automated takes only fifteen minutes.

27 Integrating General Ledgers using HFM & OBIEE Contin.
HFM uses EAL to feed Essbase which then feeds the Daily OBIEE Dashboards.

28 Integrating General Ledgers using Essbase & HFR
BE Leverages tools like HFM and OBIEE are great when reporting summarized data by Customer, Vendor, Market Channel, Product, etc. Tools Like Essbase and Hyperion Financial Reporting allow for more crisp transactional level reporting. The custom calculations allowed for the reporting and analytics standardization. Standardized, batch bursting reporting right to Senior Managements Inbox.

29 Integrating General Ledgers using Planning
BE Leverages the ERP and EPM integration (FDQM) when creating solutions which a more granular with such tools as Hyperion Planning. The role of Hyperion Planning was simple, go into the finance community and do a find and replace for all of the 70MB Excel models by building the intelligence into HP. Each Entity had it’s own way of forecasting, some were very granular, others were very high-level. Corporate FP&BA worked with each of the businesses to evaluate their forecasting process identify commonalities among the businesses and lean out the process using Hyperion Planning. Another key benefit of the HP Roll-out was a more granular way to analyze a companies financials by merging the HFM COA with one of the 32 different ERP COA’s. Much of the non-value add was taken out of the Forecasting process with access databases, downloads, massaging of data.
